Alabama Real Estate School - The Alabama Real Estate Institute

Alabama Real Estate Continuing Education

Since I needed some contining education to stay in compliance with the Alabama Real Estate Commission CE requirements, I hunted down a guy I met at one of the Alabama Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours functions.  His name is James Anderson.

When we met James told me he was from North Alabama, a Real Estate Agent, and had recently moved to the Alabama Gulf Coast.  We had a short conversation and he told me about his sales philosophy - it matched mine - people want to buy and don't have to be sold, provide them with meaningful information and they will make informed decisions to do what it was they sought to do.

I ran into James a few weeks later at The Wharf's grand opening event for local agents where they showed off their fine facilities and we all gathered our complimentary tickets to the grand opening concert at The Wharf Amphitheatre featuring The Steve Miller Band.  James was sitting in front of me and he started talking about his days of bull riding and working in the agricultural industry and auction industry.  This meshed a bit with my life experiences.  What he didn't tell me at the time was that he had worked with the auction giant J.P. King, he had imported antiques from Europe, that he had been licensed in real estate since 1972, that in the auction world he was known as the "Mouth of the South", and that he also had started an ARELLO certified and Alabama Real Estate Commission approved Real Estate School.

When I began to run into uncertainty about exactly what to do in regards to continuing education due to my original lioense being from Mississippi, then a Georgia reciprocal license, followed by an Alabama reciprocal license, I called James.  James contacted the Alabama Commission and within a day had the answers for me about how I needed to proceed.

I pondered taking the online courses, but felt that I could learn more from a teacher with practical experience.  I have not been disappointed.  We have covered many of the different subjects required by the Broker Pre License class and when presented with a difficult question James noted that he was not sure about the answer.  The following week we had a definitive answer from Charles Sowell.

I recommend his school, The Alabama Real Estate Institute for those that are seeking their Salesperson Pre License and begining their Real Estate career as well as to those that seek continuing education credits.
